The meeting is scheduled for Monday night now at 6 pm at the Conway Public Library. I will have an agenda for the meeting and a “draft” calendar for the year so we can discuss events, we will have a fall roundup in Sept, I can check with Pine Tree to see which Thursday is available—hopefully we can add 2 new tiger dens.
One of my goals this year is to work on improving our pack meetings—making them more “purposeful” but also with a fun element—I’m hoping that we can change our format so its not so much announcements and more about having the whole pack getting to know each other—yes this might mean more singing (God help me).
At each pack meeting I would like to have a quick sharing time from each den—doesn’t have to be a huge production but having the boys show or share what they have worked on during the previous month. All of you are doing great things—camping, projects and trips etc. and nobody gets to hear about it. This will also let the younger boys see some of the things they will be doing in the future.
I also have ordered for all the leaders the program helps that has the monthly themes and ideas for each den so don’t buy one.
I have several copies of the Sports and Academic Belt Loop book and the How To Book. If you think there is anything else—materials or books that you need for your year just let me know so we can get it for you.
This year at each committee meeting you can turn in your receipts or request money for something you might need to buy—I know many of you have been spending your own money on things and saying well its just $5 or $10 but it adds up so PLEASE bring in your receipts so we can reimburse you—or you can also request a check before if you know you are going to need something for that month.
Thanks, Mary
Hi Everyone, please spread the word to your dens
Just wanted to get the word out about the Fourth of July parade which is this Friday, the 4th of July in Conway Village. We are meeting across from Laconia Electric (going out the west side road). There isn’t much parking so you might want to park up in town and walk down. The parade starts at 1:30 so if you can get there around 1 p.m. we should be good.
Any questions give me a call
Thanks
Mary
I’ve recently posted two new links on our navigation panel under “Scouting Resources:” Webelos Activity Badges and Webelos Badge Requirements. They will lead you to a full description of what the advancing Bear Scouts will need to do to earn their Webelos Badge.

These are the requirements as they appear in the 2003 edition of the Webelos Handbook.
As with all Cub Scout ranks, you must first earn the Bobcat Badge to be eligible to work for this award.
Also, your Webelos Den Leader will now sign off your activities (your parent or guardian does not sign off the activities as they did when you were a Wolf or Bear).

After completing the rest of requirement 8, do these:
And do one of these:
* If you earned your faith's religious emblem earlier in Cub Scouting, and your faith does not have a Webelos religious emblem, you must complete requirement 8e.
Completion of requirement 8e does not qualify a youth to receive the religious emblem of his faith.
Webelos Emblems are listed on pages 68-69.

After you’ve earned the Webelos badge, you can earn the compass points emblem. It is awarded after you earn seven activity badges, four more in addition to the three you earned for the Webelos badge. Wear your compass points emblem attached to the button on the right pocket of the Webelos uniform shirt.
After you earn the compass points emblem, you’ll receive a metal compass point for each four additional activity badges you earn. Pin these compass points on the emblem in the “E,” “W,” or “S” positions, in any order you choose.
You can earn the emblem and all three compass points by completing 19 activity badges, including the three required for the Webelos Badge.
Thanks!
Matt
Just a reminder that the last pack meeting of the school year is at 6:30 p.m. in the Pine Tree Cafeteria. The opening ceremony will be the Pledge of Allegiance by the Tiger Cubs. Every den will bring either a dessert or drinks to share. While we are enjoying the snacks we will be presenting awards, badges of rank, and neckerchiefs and slides for the new ranks. Den 1 Bears will be presented their badges of rank last along with the new Webelos neckerchiefs and slides. Then we will have the closing ceremony.

Will likely start at John Fuller. We need to get the pack flags from Larry Nash. We need the pack to support our efforts in the parade, so please make an attempt to show up in full uniform. More to come on the time.
Mike Foss will call Larry Nash to see if he has any more rockets or engines. We’d like to launch the rockets on July 20th at 1 p.m. We will order some rockets and hopefully have them for the pack meeting.
Next committee meeting August 12th at 6 p.m. at the Conway Library is important as we will be going over the rough schedule for the upcoming year. We need all committee member’s help and support for ideas to make it as fun as possible for all the scouts.
We do have Golden Goose tickets on sale. This is a good fundraiser for the pack, as most of the money goes to us. It is a fun event for adults only. See Mary if you’d like to buy some or get some to sell for the pack.
We are going to have a committee meeting TOMORROW night - Tuesday the 3rd at 6pm at PINE TREE library.
I know everyone has baseball but if you could make it that would be great. I want to go over the plan for pack meeting on June 19th for advancements. If you can’t make it - I need your list by next Monday so I can order everything.
I also want to talk about what we want to do for summer pack activities: 4th of July parade is coming soon etc.
Thanks - hope to see everyone tomorrow! Give me a call if you have any questions.
Mary Hill
Schedule subject to change due to baseball tryouts starting.
Hi Everyone,
Just to let everyone know that I will be receiving GOLDEN GOOSE TICKETS SOON!
We will have 30 tickets and each ticket is $30 - It is total profit for us - Storyland doesn’t take anything - and we usually end up getting about $34 for each ticket. Talk it up to the parents - this isn’t for the kids to sell its for the parents to sell to friends or relatives.
It’s for Friday Sept 12th (no kids) adults only event, raffle for $1000. Tons of great food, auction items, some rides and you get a ticket to Storyland for another day. All the nonprofits in the valley get to sell them. If we sell all 30 we can get more! They will be going fast. If someone wants to reserve them they can call Mary Hill and leave a message.
I am hoping that each den could sell 4 tickets to someone they know. The parents of the scouts don’t have to buy them but it would be great if each den could brainstorm friends or coworkers who they could ask.
It would be great if we could get them all sold by the pack meeting in June and then we wouldn’t have to worry about it over the summer or in the fall when we are doing all the popcorn stuff. So people get out there and SELL SELL SELL!
Valley Pride Cleanup Day for Cub Scout Pack 150 will be Saturday at 8:00 a.m. Mary Hill will get the trash bags early so we can start promptly. Then if people need to go to baseball maybe they can get in an hour or so. We will be cleaning the Route 302 strip in Center Conway.
Scouts should at least wear their hats so people will notice as they are driving by. Den leaders should get the message out to everyone so that whoever is available can show up.
Let’s do our part! Thanks!
