We’ll add more as we necessary, but so far there is a Class 3 Medical form for resident camp at Camp Carpenter, and a Hike-A-Thon form to raise money for camp. Just download and print!

Pack Meeting March 26th 2009

Hi everyone

Just wanted everyone to know how our plans have changed–gee what a surprise! Our pack meeting is set for Thursday March 26th at 6:30 at John Fuller School.

After talking to Andy and Marsha the district executive who is coming to do the Friends of Scouting presentation, the troop is having a court of honor that night when the Boy Scouts get their awards and remember the events they have participated in–Andy wanted to have the FOS presentation that night because that is when the most parents are there–We wanted to have it that night also but down at Pine Tree doing the Leave No Trace stuff.

After much talking and because we are trying to make more of a connection with the Troop and so the Webelos can attend a troop meeting, the pack is going to meet at John Fuller at 6:30–Marsha will do her camping presentation and answer questions in the cafeteria–at 7pm we will move into the gym–with the Troop to listen to the FOS presentation and to watch the Boy Scouts do their Court of Honor–they usually have snack food!

Please encourage all your parents/scouts to come even though it is at John Fuller (it makes the North Conway crowd happy for one night since they don’t have so far to go). We need lots of parents there to count towards quality unit and we want everyone to get the info about camp before April.

Sorry that plans have changed–save all your animal tracks etc. and hopefully we can use them for the April pack meeting–Michelle if you have already talked to Miss. Sooz could you tell her our plans have changed.
If anyone has any questions or just wants to vent give me a call or email me.

Thanks, Mary

Pack 150 Meeting Tonight, Thursday January 15th

January 2009 Committee Meeting Notes

Hi everyone

Just wanted to touch base and let everyone know that this Thursday is the pack meeting the 15th at 6:30. Wanted to fill Becky in since she couldn’t be there. The weather is calling for FRIGID temps so please make sure to remind scouts to dress warmly because they will be outside part of the time snowshoeing. Sonya, Steve and I are borrowing snowshoes from schools but you can tell scouts if they have their own bring them. We also talked that if the scouts had headlamps/flashlights to bring those also. We talked about bringing sleds as a backup plan so if you have those throw them in the car–not sure if we will use them because its going to be so cold I don’t think the kids will want to hang outside too much. We will be staying inside.

The plan is to have 2 groups–a mix of older and younger scouts so we will have snowshoes for everyone–approximately 1/2 hour for each group–we will need lots of help getting snowshoes on quickly–one group will go snowshoeing and one group will listen to sled dog talk and then we will switch.

Sonya will be in charge of snowshoeing–older kids might go down a trail, younger kids might just snowshoe in the field depending on how long it takes to get the snowshoes on.

I did get a hold of some people with sled dogs and they are coming!!!! I have to call her back today to negotiate a “small” price and talk to her about the details. I think I will have them do the talk inside and that can be the warming up station where they can have hot chocolate while they listen.

I will get the hot chocolate–I am going to ask Pine Tree if we can borrow one or two of the big hot water pots.

Thanks,

Mary

P.S. We decided to go ahead and try the Pinewood Derby on a Sunday afternoon–Feb 8th (I have to reserve the date with the school) 12:30 starts the check in and the race will start promptly at 1pm
Everybody is just to bring a snack to share (chips, veggies, brownies, cookies pretzels etc.) and drinks will be provided. It should go until 3pm and at the end there will be a no holds barred adult race.

Please make sure every scout has a derby car and is working on it for the month of January. If someone does not have a car yet let me know ASAP–I have some extras.

January 2009 Committee Meeting

My how time flies–its time for our monthly committee meeting again, Tuesday Jan 6th–6:30 at Pine Tree School Library

We have lots to talk about to get ready for Jan pack meeting and Crossing Over
Hopefully everyone has made their contacts or phone calls if they had an assignment.

Cub Scout Pack 150 in the Conway Holiday Parade

Cub Scout Pack 150 had the position of honor in the Conway New Hampshire Holiday Parade this year!

Merry Christmas!

Caroling at Sunbridge December 9th 2008

Members of Cub Scout Pack 150 will sing Christmas Carols at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Conway at 6pm on December 9th 2008. It is a wonderful evening and teaches the boys about compassion and the great feeling they get from doing something nice for others. All are invited!
